Insight sources high-quality coffees from producing countries around the world. Founded in 2011, it is already working hard to establish direct relationships with farmers to fulfill its mission to carefully source, roast,  and brew coffee. All coffees are carefully roasted on site at the downtown (8th & S) location. Freshness is key, so carefully selected coffees are roasted every week. Insight strives to offer a diverse selection of high quality from four distinct growing regions to please all palates –  Central America, South America, Africa, and the Indo-Pacific.

A wide range of brew methods are used to achieve maximum quality. All milks are organic and sourced locally. House coffee is all French pressed plus pour-over coffee is made to order. Espresso drinks are all made on their beautiful Victoria Arduino Athena lever machine, staying as true to the craft as possible rather than using automated machines. Whole leaf teas are also hand selected for quality and prepared with care.

They serve locally sourced edibles from Doughbot, Estelle’s Patisserie, and Sugar Plum, plus cereal and fruit from the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, and delicious “bean-to-bar” chocolates from Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate in Arcata.

Stop by on a Thursday or Sunday at 11 am for complimentary coffee tastings that occur each week. Classes also offered to learn more about the craft of coffee.
