The University of California Cooperative Extension and Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District are hosting Harvest Day 2008 on Saturday, August 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   Join us in celebrating the summer harvest from the Fair Oaks Horticulture Center maintained by Master Gardeners, and the harvest from the Fair Oaks Community Garden.

We are featuring a lineup of interesting and knowledgeable speakers who will address many timely garden topics. Check the 2008 Harvest Day Speaker Schedule to view the dates and times.

In addition to speakers and Demonstrations, there will be more than 18 educational tables.  here will also be a plant clinic staffed by UC Master Gardeners to help with garden/landscape problems and answer questions; information about the Water Wise Pest Control Program will also be available. Bring samples of pests and/or diseased plants for diagnosis.

The annual event will be held in Fair Oaks Park, located on Fair Oaks Blvd., just south of Madison Avenue in Fair Oaks. Check the Directions to Fair Oaks Hort. Center for information on how to get there.  Donations are requested. For more information, contact the Cooperative Extension office at (916) 875-6913.
