Edible Pedal was born out of the simple idea that the bicycle should be reintroduced into the American workday world and that it should be used to reduce man's dependence on fossil fuels by tapping into our own resources of the human body. Edible Pedal uses bike transport to deliver take-out from a variety of Slow Food Sacramento’s Snail of Approval restaurants in Midtown. They also serve as a pick-up location for CSA boxes by Say Hay Farms and Good Humus Farm. Edible Pedal also functions as a full service bike shop, both selling and repairing bicycles. Edible Pedal prides itself on reducing our carbon footprint by encouraging the community to slow down and experience local food sources, enjoy Slow Food approved restaurants, community gardens and local farms. They consider themselves an antidote to the unsustainable practices of the modern day fast food industry.
