Featuring author Meera Klein with
Chef Adam G. Lovelace
$35 Co-op owners and Slow Food members/ $45 general
Enjoy conversation, a cooking demonstration and (of course!) food tasting with local author Meera Klein. Her memoir My Mother’s Kitchen is based on growing up in south India and the foods prepared by her mother for their family. This novel with recipes is the perfect way to learn more about life in India and everyday cooking techniques.
Slow Food U, our chapter’s ongoing opportunity to learn about Slow Food style food preparation, will feature Meera Klein in conjunction with the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. Meera Klein brings the rich flavors of India to life in her book My
Mother’s Kitchen, where the kitchen is a special place of healing and rejuvenation. Meera will do the talking, Co-op in house chef Adam Lovelace will do the cooking, and YOU will do the eating and learning.
We are pleased to co-sponsor this event with the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op Community Learning Center and Cooking School. The session will be held at their cooking school facility, adjacent to the store at 1914 Alhambra Blvd. My Mother’s Kitchen will be available for sale at the event.
