Frequently Asked Questions

I am interested in the Slow Food movement. How can I learn more?

Visit www.slowfood.com. This Web site discusses the history and progress of our international movement; allows you peruse our publications; explains what the Slow Food Foundation is (and describes its projects); highlights upcoming Slow events around the United States and the world; provides information about the University of the Science of Gastronomy and - most importantly - invites you to join Slow Food USA! On-line forms are available for joining Slow Food.

How do I join Slow Food Sacramento?

You are welcome to join our convivium if you live in the Sacramento region. Simply visit the national Slow Food website, www.slowfood.com, where you can join on line, or call the national office at (718) 260-8000. After you join, the national office will add you to the Sacramento Slow Food’s membership database. In the meantime, we are happy to add you to our email list, which will keep you apprised of upcoming events. If you wish to be put on the email list, please send your request to slowfoodsacto@comcast.net.

What if I am interested in joining, but first want to know about (and experience) the kinds of events your convivium hosts?

We are happy to put you on our email list so you can be informed about upcoming events. Non-members are welcome at most of our events, if we have space. Slow Food members have priority over non-members, however. If you wish to be put on the email list, please send your request to slowfoodsacto@comcast.net

Can I come to an event if I am not a Slow Food member?

Yes, please see above
