Slow Food Sacramento’s Snail of Approval program honors local businesses that exemplify the principles of Slow Food and contribute to the quality, authenticity, and sustainability of food in our community. Awarded businesses are located in and around the Sacramento metropolitan region and all show commitment to the three basic Slow Food principles of good, clean, and fair.

Slow Food members can nominate businesses in the following categories:

1. Restaurants

2. Producers (e.g., farms, ranches, wineries)

3. Supporters (e.g., businesses that do not produce or serve food but otherwise support Slow Food principles, such as grocery stores, delivery services, etc.)
